Thursday, June 27th, 2024, Cikarang Dry Port held a seminar and discussion event “Optimizing West Java Import Exports Through Integrated Logistics Facilities” (Optimalisasi Ekspor Impor Jawa Barat Melalui Fasilitas Logistik Terintegrasi) at De Paviljoen Hotel, Bandung.

This event was opened by Imam Wahyudi – General Manager Commercial Cikarang Dry Port. This event discusses strategies and solutions that will support regional economic growth. The three main speakers who attended were Trismawan – Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (Asosiasi Logistik & Forwarder Indonesia – ALFI), Agus Utomo – General Manager Operational Cikarang Dry Port, and Andra Mahendra – General Manager Sunrise Resource Ltd.

Trismawan opened his session by discussing the vital role played by ALFI in coordinating logistics activities in Indonesia. He highlighted the challenges faced by the logistics industry today. On the other hand, Agus Utomo said that the logistics facilities at the Cikarang Dry Port have been integrated from both Customs needs to quarantine, so collaboration between the government and the private sector is important to create a holistic logistics ecosystem.

However, from the customers perspective, Andra Mahendra provided a perspective from the private sector regarding optimizing exports and imports. He also shared Sunrise’s experience in facing logistics challenges and how they managed to increase operational efficiency through innovation.

This event is an important first step in efforts to increase West Java’s competitiveness in the international arena through optimizing logistics. With integrated logistics facilities, it is hoped that the export-import process will become smoother, faster and more efficient, so that it can have a positive impact on the regional economy.
